Flesh and Stone Rings

Flesh and Stone Rings

Exhibited at the Mary E. Black Gallery
Halifax, Nova Scotia
September 2–18, 2016

Flesh and Stone examines the dual conditions in which contemporary jewellery exists: being worn intimately on the body and inhabiting the neutral, public space of the gallery. Lamp-worked glass and metal are combined in these rings, whose formal qualities illustrate the contrast in contexts.
